PATHHEAD PLAYERS

Backstage Chat

We will get around to putting some (more) stuff on this page.

It might be stories or it might be the photos that the subject didn't want you to see.

Meanwhile, if you want to let us know what you thought of a show, or ask us about a production, please get in touch

NOTE: The photographs on these pages are subject copyright restrictions and must not be used without the express permission of the copyright holder.

Whilst there is no objection to them being reproduced for PERSONAL use, they may not be used on other web sites/pages without such permission.

AGM 2010 After more years than anyone can remember, our President Bruce Ward decided to hang up his badge and step down.  Tributes were paid to  the informal yet well respected manner in which he ran things, on occasion pouring oil on troubled waters, giving praise where due and always ensuring the cohesion of the Players - Bruce our sincere thanks for your tremendous contributions, both on and off stage.  At the helm to steer us ahead now is Joe Burns who probably thought it was going to be a quiet year for him as he took a break from the director's chair - Joe, don't bet on it and we all know you will work as hard as President as you have done for so many years with us.

Following on from the discussions with Gordon from Black Diamond, around a dozen undertook the 3 training nights.  This was a valuable insight in to radio broadcasting and community radio.  Its unfortunate that the current transmission mast precludes Pathhead from receiving a decent signal but things are happening that may, hopefully, resolve this. Martin and Bob have both been to the studio and been 'on air' whilst Helen was there for a look at how it happens.

Well that's the 2010 play put to bed, stage cleared and the hall returned to its usual set up.

'Voices' by Ian Hornby enjoyed a reasonable run between 5th and 7th May with many favourable comments from the audience.

Our thanks to all who came to see us, we appreciate your support.                                                       8 May 2010

On Saturday, February 20th, 2010 a strangely dressed motley crew made their way to Jenny and Graeme's for a murder mystery evening.

The body had been removed prior to our arrival but over the course (well 3 excellent courses actually) of the evening the culprit was revealed.

and some 3-4 weeks later some more murderous goings-on at the same place (or was it Egypt?)

Bumped in to Laura Thomson a few days ago and she handed in a couple of programmes to put on the site. She also produced the unofficial programme from 1999 that I've posted below - I can say in ALL honesty that, this time 'it wisnae me, honest'

It was with great sadness that we learned of the untimely death of one of our most popular members on Friday July 11 2008 following a motorcycle accident.  Chris Richardson has been with us for several years, playing many lead parts and always happy to nurture younger, less experienced members.  His talent and love of stage work showed through all he tackled and we will miss him greatly, not only as a member of our group, but as a friend.

Our thoughts are with his family at this very sad time.(13 July 2008)

Hard work and dogged perseverance pays off

Dad, Dave, proudly told us last week that Eleanor has finally got her Equity card, then it got even better, a London agent has signed Ellie up and has already started calling her for auditions.  Then this week's Radio Times, in advertising the BBC Scotland programme 'Empty' - the first time a picture of the programme has featured, shows the cast with her centre front.  The programme shows at 2200 on Thursday 20 March on BBC2.  (13 March 2008)

Need Photies

You will see that there are now links to most of the productions over the last decade.  Unfortunately many of the links lead only to posters and programmes as there aren't any pictures of the production on stage, in costume, on the set.  If you have any such pictures that you can let us have, either in digital format or borrow to scan, we'd really appreciate it.  Also any other programmes and pictures that are for productions before those listed would greatly help in adding to the site.(20 March 2008)
